Tyson Larson Elected Next Senator of the 40th District

By Administrator, on Nov 3, 2010

O’NEILL – After earning more than 52% of the vote, Tyson Larson was named the next senator of the 40th district.  Commenting on his victory, Tyson said, “I am humbled that the people of our district came out in the numbers they did to vote for me.  It will be an honor to follow in the footsteps Cap Dierks, who deserves all of our thanks for his tremendous service to our district, our state, and our country.”

When asked why he felt he won the election, Tyson explained, “It has only to do my vision for the district.  The purpose of my door-to-door campaign and hard work was not just to befriend everyone; it was to hear what ideas were on the minds of the people of the 40th district.  My stance on the issues is a direct reflection of what people told me that they want, and I will continue to have the same energy and dedication in the capital to represent the views of my constituents.”

Although Tyson will not be inaugurated until January, he intends to keep working so that he can hit the ground running in Lincoln. “If this election shows anything it is that people care about the issues.  The problems that we face and for which people came out to vote are too big and too important to our future to leave unattended even for two months.  I campaigned on everything from rural economic development to educational reform to overhauling the tax system, and I am going to deliver results to the 40th district by continuing to work over the next few months.”

Tyson had this closing message for the voters of the district, “It is a privilege beyond words to have been elected.  Whether you voted for me or not, I will fight harder than any senator that you have ever had to represent your interests.  Let’s lead Nebraska to a brighter future together.”

Congratulations!
